Sponsor the Channel

Thank you very much for your interest in sponsoring the Drew Howden Tech YouTube channel!

While all inquiries for sponsorship deals are very much appreciated, I can’t feature just anything on the channel. Below are my criteria for potential product placements. All potential product placements must meet this criteria to be considered. It’s a very strict criteria, and that’s on purpose, because I want to make sure that I’m endorsing a product/service that I’m proud to endorse–not just because it’s an extra coin in my pocket. This not only protects my reputation as a content creator, but it also means that my viewers are more likely to trust my endorsement, which means more sales for you!

Criteria for Product Placements

  1. Must be a tech product/service. Drew Howden Tech is a tech channel (hence the name), so it should feature tech products and services.
  2. Product/service must support/work on Linux. More specifically, Drew Howden Tech is a Linux channel, that promotes Linux Desktop as a viable alternative to Windows and macOS. Featuring products or services that don’t support Linux would fight against this.
  3. You have to look professional. If you send me an offer, you can reasonably expect me to take a look at your website—especially considering, you will have a link to your website in your offer—so make a good first impression. Of course, the email you send to me to pitch your product is also a great opportunity to make a good first impression.
  4. I think this goes without saying, but a reputable company is an absolute MUST! If you send me an offer, expect that I am going to look up your company, what it’s about, reviews, and other relevant details about it.
  5. Adding onto that last point, you must have been in business for at least six months. I love to support small businesses, but I am not going to take a chance on an operation that just appeared overnight.
  6. Last but not least, your product/service has to be something I believe in; something I would actually use. If I don’t believe in it, I can’t sell it. I could try, but I would have a hard time convincing my viewers to buy it.

How do you get me to believe in your product?

Well, basically, you have to sell me your product! If you can’t sell me your product, how do you expect me to sell it to my viewers?

If you have a great product that you believe in, you should have no problem getting me to believe in it.

Types of Product Placements

The Drew Howden Tech YouTube channel offers two main types of product placements:

  1. Sponsored segments: A portion of a video (usually 30 seconds or less) advertising your product/service/company; Segments at the beginning of the video are generally more expensive than segments at the end
  2. Dedicated review videos: An entire video reviewing your product/service; Of course, expect to pay more for this than the former

How to Apply

If you meet all the criteria above, send me an email with your pitch.

What to Include In Your Pitch

  1. The name of your company
  2. The name of your product/service (unless you want a placement for your company in general, not a specific product or service)
  3. A description of the product/service and what it does; If a physical product, also include pictures
  4. A description of your company and what it does
  5. Links to your website and product pages
  6. The type of placement you want
  7. Your name at the bottom of the email; A footer including your company’s name, logo, and contact information is even better

Of course, feel free to add more to your email. Remember, this is your chance to sell me your product.

I will probably have a lot more questions for you when I get your email, especially if I am interested in your product.
